i have 20k friends, and i add more and more each day. i'm 17 years old and i have been adding friends for about a year now. My mom always says what are you doing on there. blah blah blah. I tell her it's not a waste of time. Some day i want to advertise something. Like i have always wanted my own clothing line. So lets say 1/100 people like my clothes and but something. that would mean at least 100 people out of the 20,000. if not that something else. i think networking really helps. so be real with me everyone. do you think it's possible to make a career out of myspace? thanks. :]

Yes and No. Possibly. It could go either way

If you for example start selling stuff on MySpace (which i dont think your allowed to do anyway!) Then you could isolate all these people who are your friends. You just become a shop and not an interesting person on myspace (which i assume u are).

Your figures add up perfectly, and I think 1% is a reasonable estimate depending on what it is your thinking about selling. but I reckon you'll see a sharp decline if your myspace page becomes a shop and you start marketing via messaging people with spam about your products etc etc

Now being a popular dude as you are, what you can do is this.

Email Coca-cola marketing, or Nike, or another massive company. Tell them the rate at which your myspace is growing, and how much they'll pay you to put an advert on your myspace page. If you manage to pull a viable number of people per day onto your page then at least one company will no doubt be interested.

Let me know how it goes, sounds really interesting. Got a few more ideas which i'd rather not publices, but email me for more info!

You are really fooling yourself. If you really have 20,000 friends you should ba ablt to name them, at least by first name, tell someone where they live and tell something about them.

Just because you push a button to become a computer friend doesn't mean they know you or care anything about you. A lot of people, such as yourself, try to add friends just so you have some big number. The rest your premise doesn't hold water. So, NO you cannot make a living off of myspace, unless you happen to own myspace and sell advertisement.

If I were you I would make one real friend that I could talk to to determine a real path in life.

No. I'm sure it's against the rules, as well. What, you think a website made soley for the benefit of PAID advertising would allow you to advertise for free? Also, to be an entrepreneur, I really do believe you should know basic math. 1/100 is 1%. 1% of 20,000 is 200, not 100. Not that it matters, because you're not going to get anywhere.

There are many sites online that pay good money for you to do things you would normally do online, like shopping and filling out surveys, etc.

I created a site from checking many of these sites out and finding the best ones:

The link is in my Profile.

It has a lot of good information on making money online, best of all these sites doesn't cost you anything. That's right 100% free, give it a look and try it out.

Absolutely not. Forget it and get a job at McDonald's. I'm serious. Myspace is okay for fun. But if you think you'll ever make a dime off of it you're living a pipe dream. If you don't believe me try it.

Doesn't hurt to try! You can also put pieces of your clothing out on eBay too. Best of luck!
