Even though I'm a Spurs fan, I have a lot of respect for Steve Nash. I was surprised today to hear his postgame comments, where he essentially called out his teammates, saying that some poeple on the team weren't playing the best that they could. He didn't name names, and Peter Veschey (sp?) on NbaTv agreed with his comments. I don't know a lot about the Suns... is there discord among the players? What was he talking about?

Don't mean to be ignorant... but who is STAT?

I was at the game today and I think he was referring to Amare. I have no idea what was up but he really didn't seem up to it today. Everyone who watches the Suns knows he can play so much better than he did today. But you still gotta give props to the Spurs they played a good game. Suns will make it up Tuesday.

Yea, I think he was referring to STAT's lack of aggression going after rebounds on the defensive end and Barbosa's lackadaisical play over dribbling the basketball and putting up some bricks in the clutch around the basket. Barbosa is awesome but he'll never be a play maker and tonight shows why, although he is a scorer, he has to know sometimes when it's not there he has to pass to the open man rather than dribbling so much that he's got 3 defenders on him...he's chewed the shot clock down and now hes forced to throw up a low percentage shot at a bad angle. His game only works with a lane open and in transition , if the Suns are to win he's got to be more patient and recognize whats open, that's why he can never replace Nash properly. Nash knows what to do based on whats given to him and make the correct move.

i think he was just annoyed that the suns play so poorly when he's not on the court. He is right to be angry but he just alleviates so much pressure when he's on the court and that's why his a two-time MVP winner and a top candidate again for this year. When he's off the court they are a rudder-less team with not a lot of control particularly with their fast paced offense that they're so used to playing. Im sure Dantoni knows that but there is little he can do with the backup players he has to fill that huge void when Nash isnt in the game.

i watched the game and other than a few lazy box outs by amare where he let the spurs get 4 off rebounds in 1 posession, i think nash is so good in the clutch and it comes so natural to elevate his game when his team needs him that he doesn't realize that some people have a harder time when the pressure is on. nash is so good.

Peter Vecsey agreein with him only lessens his comments, anyway Nash has a lot of nerves considering last year Harris of Dallas, Flip Murry and Jason Terry out did his butt last year and like Scottie Pippen said he was exposed with his MVP trophy,(notice pip has not been seen much since the comment) Nash calling out his teamis not good not now. He should act like an MVP and put them on his back like MJ, Magic ,Barkley who never won but got his team to the finals as did A.I. Nash has not even got them to a finals. Run and Gun only works when u play a little defense also.

It is virtually a challenge. He just wants the guys to play with more heart. The guys didn't play their A game a total no-no if you play against the Spurs, a perennial championship contender.

They could not score without him because they are used to having him. If they played a few games in a row they would adjust. Nash is that good and all you Nash bashers out there i hope this serves a lesson to you imbeciles that criticize him.

What's he worried about? Isn't next year's Pacific Division Title very tantalizing?
