Stood still in relation to what?

If it stood still in relation to the Sun (stopped following its orbit around the Sun), the Sun's gravity would cause it to fall into the Sun.

If it stood still... as in stopped rotating... one side always facing the Sun... one side would heat up, the other cool down.... massive storms ... destruction... eventually things would stabilize with a habitable zone in the twilight band between night and dark.

I presume you mean if the earth stops rotating on it's axis. One day would be a year long. The side with daylight would be in summer and heat up considerably while the night side would be in winter. If the rotation slows down to one a year however, then look at Venus. The side facing the sun would become a furnace and the other an ice-box.

Do you mean always still or just stopped one day. If it always stood still days and nights would rely on revolution around the sun. If it stopped one day we would go flying off the earth.

There would be no changing seasons, no day and night. No time because there would be no rotations. Half the earth would be full of light and life and the other half would be dark and cold.
