Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb....

I heard that song on the radio this morning.

Who sang it and what is it about?

the singer is Edd Burnes. He was an actor on "77 Sunset Strep" back in the 60's. I think the woman singing in the song with him was Stella Stevens. His character was known for how much he took care of his hair.

Kookie was a very popular character on a tv show in the early 60s called 77 Sunset Strip. He was played by an actor named Eddie Burns. His character was kind of hip for the day...sort of a Fonzie type and was always combing his hair. The song is just a tie in, sung by Connie Stevens, with Eddie Burns appearing on the track.
