And how do you feel about him possibly breaking Hank Aaron's home run record? I know how hard it is to hit major league pitching, and steroids or not, you can't hit a home run without making contact. He has hit near .300 for several years and steroids don't help with that either. I am torn myself and would like input from others on this matter

1) im not saying steroids should be legal but it still takes a lot of skill to hit homeruns even juiced
2)a lot of others (including pitchers) are on the roids and some of them may be in the HOF or may get into it
3) if barry is not in the HOF, then we will have the leader or second in career HRs AND the all time hits leader (pete rose) not in the hall of fame....somethings got to give

The Hall of Fame will pretty much be a joke without it's all time home run leader along with it's all time hits leader (Pete Rose) Don't blame the players for steroid use. The players union is to blame. Donald Fehr is a jackass. I don't blame Bond's for taking steroids instead of sitting around while much less talented players like McGwire and Sosa gained the HR spotlight.

Yes. Barry Bonds is an all time great. I think steroid use was pretty rampant in the Majors in the past decade, and yeah, Barry used, but so did a whole lotta guys. It can help you only so much. A guy on steroids who cant play the game isn't gonna hit .300 because he uses. No, Barry is truly an all time great, despite his flaws.

Until they prove proof positive that he was on steroids, then he does deserve to go to the Hall of Fame. Still, it is still not that easy to hit homeruns like he does. I think he'll break the record by the end of the month. Records are made to be broken and it is too bad Hank Aaron doesn't plan to be there.

He *IS* the suited all-around participant of all time, and that i defy all of us to call me somebody extra useful. no longer merely is Barry the homestead-run king, yet he hits for known, has amazing self-discipline (he does not strike out like Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson), has stable velocity and baserunning intelligence (514 bases with 80% fulfillment fee), oh yeah, and a gold-glove high quality fielder! Awards: 14 All-Stars, 7 MVPs (+2 2d place, +4 better 10s), 8 Gold Gloves, 5 Silver Slugger Stats: .298 AVG, .444 OBP, .607 SLG, 762 HRs, 1996 RBIs, 2227 R, 2935 H, 1440 XBH, 6012Bs, 5976 finished Bases, 514 SBs, 2558/688 BBs/IBBs. profession suitable 10s: HRs (a million), BBs/IBBs (a million), XBH (2), Runs (3), RBI (4), OBP (4), finished Bases (4), SLG% (6) human beings choose to point to Barry Bonds as though he have been the poster baby for PEDs... however the actuality of it relatively is that PEDs have been a league huge phenomenon. Pitchers, hitters, stars, function-gamers, fringe MLBers. Barry nonetheless controlled to dominate his era. you may no longer merely take steroids and become a HoF high quality participant, ask Hal Morris or Jason Grimsley. you in addition to might can not punish a participant for doing what replaced into authorised to be the suited, in view it relatively is the character of being an athlete. actually that baseball authorised the abuse of steroids until eventually 2004. in case you sense that PEDs in activities is erroneous, then your difficulty is Bud Selig, no longer Barry Bonds.

Well seeing as how when he was suppose to be tested he miraculously suffered a 6 moth injury placing him on the DL for the time it takes steroid to leave ur body seems pretty suspicious and cowardly. I mean hiding i the DL is the woosiest thing he could have ever done. I wish a pitcher would just drill him in the leg or head and end that steroid using oaf's career

Barry Bonds is first ballot hall of famer GUARANTEED!!! This is just another record he will own. He has the rest might as well have this one. He is the ultimate team player, on base more than 50 percent of the time and slug. percentage of near 800 most of the time.......he is awesome. It really doesnt matter what others think he is the greatest we have ever seen or will ever see. Good luck on the 8th MVP and go Barry!!!!

Ps. to the moron that said Barry got hurt for 6 month to keep from being tested.........lol Yea I'm sure you have 4 knee surgeries ......little extreme dont ya think.

Bonds definitely deserves to be in the Hall. He has the numbers, he's a 7 time MVP, and he has done something no one else has done by hitting 500 HRs and stealing 500 bases. It would be riddiculous for him not to be in. For all those who say he's a cheater, Gaylord Perry is in the Hall, and he doctored the baseball to get strikeouts. Look him up.

Has he ever been tested positive or just always been accused of steroid use? I think he a great player either way and I'm with you. Records are made to be broken and great players deserve a place in the Hall of Fame.
