Sox are liked 3rd-5th in MLB in ERA or something, Schilling 3.something, Beckett high 2's, Matsuzaka is 5+ but that isn't going to last, Wakefield is 2, Tavarez is high, but has started against Millwood, Hallday(2), Wang and almost beat Santana.

And the Sox have talented lefty Jon Lester coming back, looking really good. That rotation is mostly young and energetic, and those who are not, are looking strong.

Yankees is anything but young and strong, Clemens cannot last a full seasonn, and struggled late last year, Wang is good, Mussina is a mystery at this point but should provide something, Pettitte is good, but again 6innings, Hughes is a key. - Can the Yankees be healthy and good enough?

The Sox have the best 5 now, probably the Best 5 when Clemens/Lester return.

And the Sox have better depth, with guys named Hansack and Gabbard with good MLB experience and good permances in AAA, Tavarez, Synder. doing ok now.

Yankees have Pavano, Igawa, Rasner, Karstens.. None have exactly been brilliant this year, Rasner was good today however.

The Yankees pitching is in a shambles, that is the reason they signed Clemens in the first place. The team is desperate for starting pitching. Clemens is simply the best pitcher available that the Yanks didn't have to give up a prospect or a regular player for. He definetly will help them, but as far as total pitching staffs are concerned, the Sox win this one hands down.

the subsequent One, I agree mutually with your possibilities different than Schilling v. Mussina and Wang v. Papelbon. I agree that Wang grew to become into in all possibility getting fortunate final season yet Papelbon, while beginning in 2005, frequently have been given to the 5th or 6th inning and then his administration fell aside like clockwork. by those 5 or six innings, i could supply him the area over Wang yet with Boston's weak spot being their bullpen, i could make this a tie. Schilling looks to have injury issues and lacks consistency, now and back, he pitches 8 innings of shutout baseball on a similar time as others, he shall we up six runs in 4 innings. Mussina has shown to be just about unbreakable and is a sort for consistency, i could supply Mussina a large area over Schilling. nonetheless, Boston destroys the yank's pitching.

Until the Yankees get their rotation totally back from injury and off the DL, the Red Sox will have the better rotation.
After that, I think it's pretty close.

The Yankees have a god awful pitching staff. The next time you look at their pitching staff remember to also take a look at your calender. It is 2007 not 1997.
