Three styles of love are :
Intimacy: Closeness to, and liking of, the other person.
Passion: Intense longing and physiological arousal. Ecstasy on reciprocation, despair on rejection.
Commitment: The readiness to do anything for the sake of the love.
These combine to create seven styles:
Liking: Intimacy alone
Infatuation: Passion alone
Empty love: Commitment alone
Romantic love: Passion + Intimacy.
Companionate love: Intimacy + Commitment
Fatuous love: Passion + Commitment
Consummate love: Intimacy + Passion + Commitment
The games of love are played on six different stages, and individuals will have preferred modes:
Eros: Passionate and physical. Looks are important.
Ludus: love as a non-serious game. Harm is not intended but often happens.
Storge: slow-growing, evolving out of friendship and affection. Similarity is important.
Pragma: Commonsense and pragmatic. Known conditions must be met.
Mania: An emotional roller-coaster. Stereotyped romantic love.
Agape: Unselfish and giving. Spiritual and other-focused.
Love can be viewed as a form of transference whereby one person puts a part of themself into another person and then feeling lost without that part, and subsequently feeling whole again when they relate to that person.
Committed Love, putting ones needs before your own.... :)
Love...."is" a choice.

Love is NOT a choice.
Love IS a feeling, a very strong one.
Love is something else, but until you have it you wont ever get that sensation.
Never force yourself to feel love for someone, it will happen when it is ready... if you push it then it really just ends up going wrong.

Love is a feeling AND a choice. We choose to love someone, and the feelings that we experience are new and different to us.

love is a feeling, that you can't deny, you can't choose who you love even though you could trick yourself into loving someone, but then it wouldn't be true love!
it is that something special that you have with people that are very special to yourself!

Psychologically speaking love is an emotion we allow ourselves to feel.
ellie's definition:
Love is promoting each others' well-being,
be it:
Mentally
Physically
Emotionally
Finanacially
Spiritually
Socially --
in all ways.
If you are not being promoted in your relationship; why are you still there?
