Politicians need to be seen as great PR people. They are probably aware of the scientific method, they just don't conduct themselves in a manner that would make them appear as scientific thinkers. They have to please the masses and avoid getting branded by the media.

By people of faith, I assume that you are referring to television evangelists. Well, they make their living by appealing to a certain sector of the population that probably doesn't participate in very many discussions of the scientific nature. So they wouldn't want to confuse their patrons by acknowledging that they are aware of anything other than the importance of evangelizing.

So, while politicians and people of faith may not frequently discuss their awareness of the fact gathering process of science, they most assuredly are aware of it, and very likely utilize it and benefit from it regularly.

Where are you getting your "facts?"
Betcha didn't know that the scientific method was actually INVENTED by people of faith. Specifically, they believed that God's creation could be formally studied to find deeper truths. It was the philosophical bent of Christians that pulled the western world out of alchemy. Why do you think that the West was able to advance so rapidly and basically take over the world within a span of about 300-400 years?

Well, you are about as good at asking a clear question as they are at answering with a clear answer.

But, there are many scientists that are "people of faith," so, I'm not sure what this "gathering of evidence" has to do with anything. There is no "faith guage" to determine "worthiness," and most people understand that suffering is part of the human condition.
