What good things/skills should I include when trying out for a leadership position?

I am applying for a leadership position for my school band (drum major, section leader) and I am writing a short essay on why I am qualified for the job. What are some good things I should include about myself?

Yeah i know it's not exactly a "job" but it's almost as if trying out or applying for a job and i had no idea where to post this.

Leaders take on responsibility so they need to be organized.

they also need to be able to keep thing in confidence or secret.

leaders need to be examples of what they want the group they lead to look like or act like. the leader sets the tone for the atmosphere of the group.

leader need to be patients and calm, not just to conclusions,

leaders also have to be fair, not favoring friends over other people quailifed for a job or position.
