I just found out that one of my cashier supervisors stole over $15K ($300 every time she worked), how can I prosecute this in court and how can I get my money back!!! What are all of the steps involved? Do I need a lawyer? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! my email is chulhui123@yahoo.com Thanks!

All you need to do is to go to the police. They take it from there.

You do not need a lawyer, the prosecutor is assigned to the case.

You do not need a private investigator, the police will investigate your claim

If you have any surveillance in the store, such as cameras, be prepared to surrender tapes for the period during which the employee stole money to the police

If you keep books on your inventory/profits, you should also be prepared to disclose them to the police.

If you have heard from someone else that either saw or knew the employee took the money, you will need to give their name to the police for a statement.

as long as you can prove she was doing it...dude that is embezzlement and this is a very serious crime.....you have to have proof that she was doing it....hire a private investigator and contact the law.....but like i said PROOF is what you need most...you need proof of every time she stole money....but it seems like you may have that already since you know...if you know someone who knows she was doing it you will need written statements from them...like i said a private investigator may be able to help you get the proof u need....but the law enforcement will have to investigate...i would contact them immediately.....it will be up to the courts to help you get the money back...if she still works for you then fire her ASAP....
