I am defiantly like you LOL. I put on clean underwear as well.♥♥ My Mom has passed away, but if I leave this earth, I would like my kids to find my home in decent condition and my personal papers in order in a locked box. I think we are being considerate.
I have to admit, I have always wondered about peoples home that people have died, say in a plane crash or at 9/11. Sometimes, it would be very difficult to be able to tell up from down in my home. I don't think anyone wants to be remembered by family having to spend hours or days trying to find what they needed and then cleaning up my home.
Not morbid, reality.

I rarely drive out of state, but I have the same kind of feeling like yours. I don't say it's morbid, it's actually being prepared.
LOL!Like I'm prepared to die anytime,I don't find the need to plan...But I do clean the house everyday, and locked my personal stuff in my lock box all the time...

that is funny, because sometime i actually do feel like i should clean! although you have the added comfort of a lock box. i never thought of that. sure would ease my mind if i had a place like that to store the stuff i wouldn't want anyone to find.
i don't worry about the cleanliness, what are they gonna say and who is it going to hurt? i figure they knew that part all along. but for the private stuff, I fret!

As a child, we went to Austin almost every weekend to spend time with people we could relate to more enjoyably than the ones in our area of residence. The death prep was a ritual.
THat is just a three hour drive. I don't do as much when I travel now, because, I just don't have that kind of time.

Well, but think about the bigger picture. After you pass away do you think your parents and loved ones will even be slightly annoyed by any mess you left behind? They will probably be in such a state of loss and pain that everything else doesn't matter.

I am not sure I would go to all that trouble even if I was leaving the continent. I certainly wouldn't do it if I was going to drive 50 miles to drive into the next state.
