I am late on my rent as of today, my landlord told my neighbor which is a friend of his. The neighbor has come to the home I live in twice this far, banging on the door and ringing the door bell continously and then running or speeding off in their car. Can I put a stop to this in civil court.

If you don't have the money to pay the rent, exactly how are you going to come up with a $2,000 to $5,000 retainer for a lawyer?

And lets not forget that you don't have any actual damages, which means .... you don't have anything to sue for.

If your neighbor keeps ringing your bell and banging on your door AFTER you tell him to stop, then you can file a complaint for harassment in municipal court.

Unless you tell him to stop, it's not harassment.

lol, it's not "slander" if it's the truth.

If you were late on your rent with me all the time, I'd evict you, not talk about it!
as far as the neighbor goes, that's your problem with him to sue or not.........
as far as the LL goes, to sue him, you won't make any friends and you'll b the 1st to go bye bye.......
as far as the harassment goes, get pics of the harasser and witnesses to the crimes and report him......
it matters none that he hears that you pay late, maybe you're sue happy and like to pay late because of your pay schedule, stop belly-aching and adjust your payment dates with your landlord to pay on another date and quit threatening to sue.
the best way is to just do it...don't talk about it.
there's your straight up talk from your little brother, now think constructively and win at all you do.

If you can prove that the neighbor is doing this I am sure the court can stop it from happening. As far as the landlord is concerned. It is not ethical but unless there is something in your contract agreement it will be hard to punish.

Go ahead, sue them and after that, move! It looks like a nightmare to live around such people. Good luck.

call the police and report harrassment, if you can prove slander than you might have a case but you broke the lease by not paying on time
