Please spare me the Jackson Sharpton dead horse, they only speak the truth that no one wants to hear, and they are just the black version of the Pope, what can we REALLY do to compesate for we owe are existence to Black genes that gave everyone strong resistance to disease that European chormosomes did not have and the work by Blacks that got our US treasury and banks going. What could be done?

Okay people, Jewish people already got reparations, apparantly people here are not well versed in history. Every major wronged culture basically has. Africans didn't even sell Blacks into slavery and there is no proof or record of that. You need to give facts and not public school speculation. Africans are now being enslaved by Arab Bin-Laden types, who consider themselves White but they are Semetic. It's just money, print it up and give it away. whites have been yelling for years money isn't everything, then prove it by getting rid of it. Put your money where your mouth is.

Whats done is not done, history always shapes the present. Racism pre-exists slavery but colonisation and slavery has left an unequal society, white people need to rectify that, and neo-colonisation is just the modern equivalent of slavery. There is rarely equality and i dont know what can be done in practical terms because money overrides it all. Nonetheless, spreading the wealth and encouraging democracy and equal influence would be nice

Yes, there was once White slavery. The British used the Irish as slaves up till the Nineteen Twenties within the coal mines in Britain (ordinarily youngsters). Today there are modern day day White slaves from Eastern Europe who're trafficked into brothels within the US and Canada and Western Europe (adding youngsters). In the beyond, many indentured servants (dropped at locations like Georgia chained to boats) had been Irish. ninety five% of them died in slavery. You'll ought to do your possess study. You can evaluate and distinction what you uncover, and ensure to quote your assets and do a bibliography on the finish. Also, see if you'll be able to uncover any DVDs from PBS or the History Channel. Finally, "orphan" British youngsters after WWI and WWII had been despatched to Australia as "home servants"

Please explain to me why *I* need to do something for something my family had no part in? WE are from the north. In as much as assisting with the underground railroad...I can show you the spots on the farm by the way......
At what point does everyone say - OK it has been awhile - it is in the past - can we PLEASE move on and possibly create better relations for the FUTURE rather than both sides holding themselves and the other hostage to this tragedy?
It seems SO counter productive to a positive future for this to be held over everyone's head. Think about it. White's that are alive now have it held over their heads and they had nothing to do with it. The other side - they hold themselves back because they have this expectation of some sort of retribution. What is it that we are supposed to do exactly? WE had nothing to do with it! I feel no guilt - I wasn't there. I made no choice in it. My family had nothing negative to do with it.
As long as this is brought up in this manner repeatedly - there is never going to be a solution. This is a stale mate. Why don't you try to create a solution to end the racism that goes BOTH ways to build a better future instead of sitting there driving yourself nuts over what you had no control?

If you have some deep seated need to feel guilty about something that happened 150 years before you were born, then that's your thing. I'm not buying into it. All the slaves are dead. All the slave owners are dead. All the legislators, congressmen, presidents, and other governmental inmates that made it all possible are dead. The genes you have, you have because several somebodies in your families past thought several other somebodies were attractive. That's all there is to the gene question.
If you want to "make up" something, just treat everybody fairly, equally and compassionately. Give everybody an even break, and that's all you need to do.

The people who owe black people are mostly dead, and the black people that are owed are mostly dead. In America anyway. At this time they just owe us an equal opportunity which we don't always get because of hidden racism.

If it werent for White enslavement of some Africans, there would be no modern day African Americans. They would all be living in the horrendous poverty of modern day Africa till this very day! Don't you think the African American peoples owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to the early Europeon settlers who brought them here all those years ago! We saved them from a dismal existance of Aids, poverty and all that is the African continent!THINK ABOUT IT!
If anything they should be doing something to show us gratitude for bringing them such salvation!

Nothing.Whites faught against slavery a long time ago.Whites weren`t the only bad guys back then, there were blacks that captured their own people and sold then to men on ships. There was a lot of wrong, but we need to get on with making America a better place ,both black and whites putting the past behind them and pulling together for a better nation. We can`t change the past but we can make a better future.

Ok look that was many many many many many years ago. We don't need to compensate anymore for it. This is not something that they deserve compensation for, for the rest of existence. Like I always say, what about holocaust victims? They aren't getting compensated for what they lived thru. Slavery happened, but the people alive today did not live it, therefore they do not need to be compensated. It's history, now if history repeats itself like it's said too, then we will compensate them again, if it was to happen again.

I am half black....and half white. and here is what i say. I say, that no white needs to do anything to make up for slavery. they didnt do anything to contribute to it. but a white person can RESPECT a black person....and see where they come from. Blacks did very good and wonderful things in the US.....they helped in society. buts whos to say that whites didnt either? who was the guy who figured outDNA? he was white. and that gave us a head start on how to take care of our bodies better.....and the black genes.....you dont need to THANK them for that...because they didnt do anything....itjust so happened they had good genes that mixed with yours. but they didnt DO something that protected people from a disease. there are many smart black people.....as there are white people. the most white people can do, is respect black people, recognize what black people in the past have been through, and recognize where they are now....and how they got there. we can also do the same....blacks arent the only ones who were discriminated against....jewish people were once to. sooo....someone elses question might be, " What can, I , a german do to make up for the holocaust?" they can do nothing......because they have not contributed to it......they didnt do anything bad. its their ancestors that did. you, as a white person, you can be sorry on your races behalf.but you cant MAKE UP for slavery....because you owe nothing. You took nothnig from us...it was your ancestors that did this. not you.
i am also half black and half white....so i am not trying to be racist...but im only trying to be true..and tell the truth as to what i believe.
