I have been buying civics for a while. Plural, because we give them to the kids or I replaced one to avoid recognition at a particular time. There is an 89, with over 200,000 miles on it. We have a 98 with over 100,000, (kid in it all the time, haven't seen it inside in months) and I have a 2003 with 31,000 miles. I can drive to Houston and back, about 60 miles and over, and back again and still have more than half a tank of gas. I would and will, get a hybrid next time.

Even though hybrids save gas, they often come with a pricier price tag than their non-hybrid counterparts. Even with the extra tax deduction and the money you save from gas, it's just not worth it. If you're in a country with higher gas prices, like Europe it may be beneficial, but here in the U.S. just get a regular car. If you like the smooth engine, the environmental benefits of a hybrid, and you are willing to fork a few thousand, then don't hesitate. Carsdirect.com should give you comparisons between many car models.

Have you looked at the Ford Focus. It's a really good car, and it's good on gas. I don't like foreign brands, but the Honda Civic is a good car too. Don't go with a Chevy. They are unreliable. I wouldn't recomend a Hybrid just because they cost so much, so you really aren't saving a whole lot.

Ford is the extra sturdy. Honda makes use of dissimilar GM areas, and GM is easily one among the backside high quality vehicle makers in the international. There are worse, yet those autos are made in France, Italy or Korea. Now just to returned this up, I used Yahoo autos to evaluate 2011 fashions (the figures at the instant are not complete for the 2012 Honda). The Cruze has the optimal projected fee for maintenance and maintanance, with the concentration being the backside in those factors. that is a neat gadget to evaluate extra moderen autos with, so supply it a attempt.

Small compact cars. Hybrids. Usually Honda or Toyota have better gas efficiency. Also, that smart car is incredible.

But the Prius is very compact, and silly looking at best.

Smart Car gets better fuel mileage.

They say the Honda Insight gets the best mileage. However that car only seats 2. It gets around 59 miles per gallon.

Try fueleconomy.gov for comparison fuel economy tests for various cars and trucks....my uncle-in-law gets 54mpg highway with his VW diesel Beetle and I've got friends that get arounf 40mpg with other diesel VW's. For gas, I've known people with Toyota Corolla's getting mid-30's and some are higher than that like Geo Metro's. Good luck, Paul
