so i'm still learning about snap servers and i'd like to know what is the big deal. i mean what is the difference between a snap server and an external HD?
i'd love to know the pros and cons of these snap servers.

Well first snap is available over the network and have an IP address. (You can even access them from the internet if they are setup correctly.) The main thing is multiple users can connect at the same time which is not usually the case with external HD's.

Downside they are much slower in available bandwidth than usb2 etc. unless you are on a gigabit network.
