Please give me Idea on how to fix my problem w/o spending more than the bike is worth. I already (last yr) spent 500 in parts for new valves piston and bore.
Thanks

A new tensioner should take care of it, just remove the old one, get the timing right and install the new one. Don't run it out of timing, you may end up blowing it up.

I do not like to disagree with Guardrailjim, as he is usually has one of the best answers in this game, but have to this time. DO NOT put used cam chain or tensioner in a bike,. New aftermarket chain is no problem I have a couple of suppliers who have them, camchain guide will have to be OEM, you do not want a used one, they deteroiate (sp?) with age, and the chance of failure is great. But $250 for the pair sounds high. If you are in the USA, e-mail me, I will give you a price quotre for good aftermarket chain, new OEM tensioner. Maybe will be enough lower than $250 to help, can not say from the house, on Sunday evening.
