He was a lawyer and consumer advocate. Wrote the book UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED in the sixties about the chevy corvair. Which ended up killing the car.

An activist, he was the driving force behind the PIRgs (Public Interest Research Groups).

They've done things like pass the lemon laws on cars, Renewable Energy Tax Credit, etc. It's about consumer protection, the environment, health, higher ed, and social justice.
