I once dated a man who got five years in jail for beating a guy near death while he was drunk. He claimed that they charged him with aggravated assault, but my friends say that in order to get five years, he must have murdered the guy by accident. Is that true?

In today's justice system Your penalties are directly related to your ability to hire a good attorney. The sentencing guidelines only apply if Your lawyer is not smart enough to cut a good deal or beat the whole thing. When You commit a crime and how many hear of it has much to do with the outcome. If You need to use a public defender a plea bargain will probably be the outcome. People forget that public defenders are controlled by the DA office and use their jobs to make points with those who can advance them. Few people with public defenders get off with light punishment. That is why Justice is Blind.

No it is not true. There are levels of crimes. And a person can get five years for a mid-level felony. No death need to have occured. But you should really look at the type of people you are dating...a felon?

I think that would be determined by a couple of factors. One would be the reason behind the fight or more to the point who started it and the relevant details of that.Second, were you removed from the said victim or did you stop willingly. With the details of both reasons one could find varying sentence terms.

The rape of a woman means getting brutally and savagely trampled on, scarred, spit upon, mocked, and violated......all through the place that is the landmark of her dignity, esteem, identity, her blessed organ for procreation and journey of love, pleasure and rest for her and her partner. Now think of someone's grandmother, mother, wife, child, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, or co worker getting raped. A beating does not carry the same weight In contrast this is why it is equally important for ladies to stop giving up their self respect and precious dignified gift so easily to men/dogs who use it as a heat comforter. It's the most wonderful and dignified organ in the world. RESPECT OUR WOMEN AND LOCK UP THE SAVAGES THAT DESTROY THEM.
