my daughter just got on the bus, I was holding my 1 year old, he was a millennium baby, and watching good morning America. They found out about it, when I found out about it. I saw the second plane crash into the second tower, live.
I was scared for my daughter who was in school. I wanted to go get her, I felt paralyzed in fear. I was worried that her something would happen to her school, I cried the entire day, and the entire week after that, I went into a depression for 5 months after that. The news then had to play it over and over again, for me it felt like a flashback. I was traumatized.

I went to school that day. And I had art class afterwards. Everyone knew what had happened which was rare for a bunch of 3rd graders. The TV's were on all day everywhere. And I remember the teachers wouldn't tell us what country was suspected to have attacked us, but they said "They are from a place where people aren't free." I don't remember much else.

I teach preschool and had finish my morning class and was wondering if I had my afternoon college classes after I heard about the planes. College was cancelled, I waited for our youngest son to get out of school, came home and watched the news and cried in my husband's arms. It was a scary day and I couldn't wait to have all our kids home from school and know they were safe. Of course they were as we live far away from NYC, but are still on the East coast. It was a day I'll never forget. A sad sad day for many Americans who lost loved ones.

Getting ready for work when the first plane hit the towers. Then I wached as the second one did.

There are only three things that stand out that much in my memory.
The 9/11 events
the Challenger explosion
and the day jfk was killed

Well I woke up and watched the Today news.
And they were showing live feedback on the towers, and guessing what was happening.
Then I went to school, and the teachers told us not to worry about it. My principal come on the announcer later and told us that 9/11 was a terrible day, and that high-jackers put planes into the Twin Towers. It was a sad day, but we still had to go to school in California.

-That was also the ONLY day that our principal turned on his TV in his office, it was really that bad.

I was at home, sleeping in. My husband called on the phone, and I ignored it because I was sleeping. He called again. I could hear him on the answering maching saying, "Two planes have crashed into the WTC! Our country's under attack!" Of course, that got me out of bed. I grabbed my 5-week old baby, and just cuddled him as I lay on the couch, glued to CNN. I cried, thinking that I'd just brought a baby into this world that now seemed so scary to me.

I was in my middle school science class when my teacher frantically began searching for a TV to bring into a classroom. She found one and, dumbfounded, we all watched the static-filled screen as the second plane crashed into the tower. Our teacher was telling us, "This means war. This means war," and at the time I thought she was crazy. Not anymore...

Was in history class in my junior year of high school. We were called to the gym where we had a meeting and the principal told us what happened. Then we were all sent home.
