Not really, if you think about how much money the team owners make with them.
Besides most of them have a short career due to mother nature and if one of them get hurt their job is over so is fair to make as much as they can before they have to say good bye to the game.
In the old days many pro athletes ended in the streets and homeless shelters when they were kicked out; that wasn't fair after giving their best years to the sport and making very rich the big bosses.

My personal thought is that they make way to much money for what they do. No one lives or dies based on there performance.
However if they were overpaid the teams would not be successful in generating revenue and be forced to sell or close.
So the answer is yes "I' think players are over paid. However there is a market and teams are still successful in marketing and generating revenue. Tickets are still sold and contracts paid. It does not matter what I think it matters what the owners think.

Yes and no. Professional athletes have a short career to make their money. In my opinion, they do make too much, but their actions generate the revenue for their salaries or the money wouldnt be there for them. And, compared to TV and movie stars, athletes are grossly underpaid. Oprah makes most professional athletes look like theyre living in poverty. Talk about over-paid!

Yes I do believe they are but whats going to end it. Teams are constantly battling to sign a player and the 1 thing they do is jack up the price. look st A-Rod he is making on average $25 mil per year with his contract. It is just getting ridiculous to hear how much money these people are making.

Absolutely not.
They are paid what their skills can bring in the open market, just like the rest of us. That's the way the system works. Yes, teachers and doctors probably do more for society, but few pay to see them work. I'm willing to pay to see David Ortiz play, just as I'm willing to see Bruce Springsteen play. Multiple that by millions, and it adds up.

Yes. I think that they should be given the same salary and then be required to give 50% to a legitimate charity of their choice. Even the lowest paid people would still have a salary to be envious of.
