HOW DO U CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS WHEN THEY BECOME TOO MUCH? (BESIDES SEEING SOMEONE, WHAT SHOULD i DO?

I think about the consequences of my actions. I have a bad temper and when I was younger I was involved in a lot of altercations using hand to head combat. But since I have matured I don't get into so much trouble anymore. I miss those days a little. But the time served is not worth it. It would be nice if you could get the person you are angry at to understand how lucky they are that you have refrained from causing them harm.

You need to see the doctor ASAP and get referred to a counsellor. That really is the only thing you can do, other than trying to control the urge to harm. Perhaps enroll on an anger management course. You may not think you are angry but having intense urge to harm another person signifies an underlying anger that could spill with catastrophic consequences.

That´s not specific enough...
is it someone you particularily dislike? are those thoughts related to some revengeful wish? are they images that pop into your mind without you wanting them or unrelated to any particular situation?
Strong feelings about harming someone could obey from simple rage, a heat of the moment kind of thing, to intrusive thoughts or fixated ideas symptomatic of some sort of psychopathology. If you fear that you could act on those feelings or they bother you frequently or intensly I strongly recommend finding professional help, either a therapist, a primary care doctor (if you aren´t so fond of shrinks) or maybe a crisis hotline, so someone can explore this and clarify what it is all about.
If this is about a particular situation,like after a fight or a major dissapointment, the old breath -in-and-count-to-ten should suffice
Eother way, if you think you should not be thinking these toughts don´t keep it to yourself, ask for help ...

Think about what the consequences might be if you acted on your feelings. Think of people who you care about that show you compassion and understanding when you are acting unreasonably, and how important that is to you. Realize that you are being smart and looking out for yourself when you decide to just let it go. If you are facing a violent situation, look for a non-violent solution such as notifying the authorities of the other person's aggressiveness.

Whenever I have those kinda thoughts (normally, disciplining the kids when they're driving me nuts)!!! I picture the physical in my head....the horror of what I have just witnessed in my mind.....I could, would never actually do in reality brings me to humble-ness!!!!

But have yet to fulfil a violent fantasy of a nonce who's life he ruined!!!!!(not mine - but a close friend whom has suffered terribly as a result of his abuse)!

When you see someone whom you have these aggressive thoughts of.......leave! Take yourself off where you won't have to look at them! Extricate yourself where you won't be in the same breathing vacinity as them! If you cannot see them, pretend they're not actually there... when they've gone, don't give them another thought!?!?

That's what I do when they come into my environment.....and they cannot not be avoided and ignored!

okay this may sound a little odd but lets see I like playing grand theft auto and pretending that all the people on there is the people I want to hurt then after I'm done playing it I feel a lot better like a big weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I know its just a video game and that I didn't actually hurt the person.

If you are drinking too much or taking medication or drugs that are affecting your thoughts, stop now.Give it while and see if you still think the same, if you do, you need help.

Seek help immediately like getting to the nearest emergency room or calling up your doctor or tell someone right away.

If you don't feel as though you can manage these thoughts by yourself (i.e you're worried that you may act upon them) then you should make an appointment to see your doctor so that they can refer you to a psychologist.
