I don't mean to be rude, but, GROW A BACKBONE!

I have a Triumph Rocket III, Honda CBR954RR, Yamaha Royal Star Venture, and a 2003 Screaming Eagle Deuce.

At no time do I ever "feel out of place". For all of those riders who look down their noses becuase of your machine F you. We're all subject to the same idiots in cages regardless of your mount.

The stupid part is I wave at all other oncoming riders, and I get a different reaction based on what I'm riding. The moron that doesn't wave doesn't know I have an HD, or conversly a sport bike in the garage, yet I'm the same guy on either bike.

I might be dressed a little differently (no way to drag a knee on the HD or the Venture), but still what difference does it really make in the grand scheme of things?

For you Harley only guys, take a good look at your bikes. Start with the brake rotors. They have "made in China" stamped in them. For you sport bike only guys, when was the last time you saw some squid on a harley dressed in shorts, tank top, and flip-flops doing wheelies at 50+ MPH?

No one, and I mean NO ONE is better than any other person. It's all two wheels, we all have to watch for the soccer mom SUV or mini-van.

When we are on bikes, we do not:

smack the kids in the back
talk on the phone
read the paper
apply make-up
shave
spill hot coffee in my lap
The list goes on...

We have a common bond that we share, and the make and model of your machine doesn't change what we each face when we ride.

Now, on this one, I agree with Guardrailjim 100%. One good part of being American is the freedom to be who we are, and as the Colonials did in the Revolutionary War times, they taught the Brits that this the way we want it. Today, us ricerocket guys are teaching Harley that this is the way we want it. If they do not want to supply us with 160-180 hp bikes that will run close to if not 200mph, we can putt around town, go long cross country at whatever speeds we wish, make 700-800 mile days day after day, and even the hottest engines last over 50k miles, and often MUCH more. and by the way, handle the twisties like on rails, that is Harleys choice. And if you doubt this, come on down to Texas, and we will make a ride through the hill country, and see how your Harley runs with my 1990 ZX11. I work on Harleys, do not ride them.

Hey guy a funny thing is that the majority of the parts the are on your American motorcycle are not even built in America. And the only reason you hate the Jap bikes is cuz they are built for racing. You know its funny when guys like you love cars and racing and Nascar and Drag racing but you hate the motorcycles that are built for it. Why is that? If Harley ever built a real racing bike for the street then sure i would buy it. But as of right now you cant find a Harley that can go over 90mph without overheating. And no the V-rod sucked. It handles like crap and the red line was low as hell. You know a Ferrari is a race machine for the road but you don't talk crap about them? So is a Ducati but let me guess you like Ducati cuz of the name right. Something tells me that you just wanna look cool in front of other Harley riders. Don't forget that a Suzuki cruiser will out run, and out handle a Harley. Not to mention save you 10 grand off the sticker. Go talk to a real rider and they will tell that it doesn't matter what you ride as long as you ride. I bet you don't even own a motorcycle.

Dude, what planet are you from? Do me a favor, go home and throw away everything in your house that isn't made in America and then see how you feel about it. If someone in America made a motorcycle (dirt bike) that was comparable to the Japanese then yes I would probably buy it. There is nothing stopping an American company from getting in the game but they choose not to, so no, I don't feel the least bit unpatriotic for buying a bike from a country that has done more for my chosen sport than ant other country in the world.

P.S. Good call Byron.

Because not all Americans are narrow minded idiots. It does not matter what you ride as long as it has two wheels (OK 3 for the trike guy's or 4 for the Quad's) and you are happy. It's attitudes like that that make it easier for people poke fun at real Harley riders.
I even agree with the Victory guy in that his bike is probably more American. (Damn ugly though - sorry personal opinion)

I ride a Honda VTX 1800 custom and it will smoke any Harley any day of the week. Plus, I can get it out of the garage and go ride and not spend half my time working on the piece of junk. There aren't any bike's made in America. You are being brain washed by Harley. They are overrated and overpriced.

I just bought a Yamaha 1300 tourer and I love it. It is my second Yamaha. It's cost is $ 7000.00 less than a Road King Classic. It costs less for upkeep and the power is there and the ride is better. I know ,my brother just bought a Road King Classic. Did you know Harley is building a plant in Brazil. Do I want off--no way. That is what is great about this country, the FREDOM to choose

The economy is global, now. This "pride" you're showing is doing nothing but lining the pockets of one company, and paying for wood grain floors in showrooms around the country. What's the point in paying twice the price for half the quality?

And we haven't even begun to discuss the costs of servicing and maintenance... lol.

The same way any true red-blooded American red-neck can drive a Toyota, Mercedes Benz, BMW, VW,or any number of foreign made cars.
America - The land of the free, with the freedom to choose!
I choose Jap crap (LOL) because that's my choice.
Live to ride, ride to live.
