Hello,
it is actually very easy to repair those phone jacks. Most hardware retailers carry replacement jacks and they come with very clear instructions. If you can remove the jack and undo the wires (if you keep them separate you will not get shocked, and if you do it is only 48v which is not dangerous or even scary, it just startles you) you can reattach the new one in no time.
good luck

Where I live,(Midwest USA), if you have "linebacker" (extra service) they may actually do this. Its been a long time since I asked. Usually they don't like to make house calls anymore. I don't think you'd want to block out the kind of waiting time either. Even wal mart has them. Make sure it looks right, and isn't an ethernet socket or anything, and make sure the colors of the wires match when you put in the new one. Its quite easy. If you mess it up the phone won't work. You won't "break" anything. Good luck.

Wall jacks are very easy to do yourself. Do not have the local phone company do anything (save yourself 65.00). The phone jacks are very simple to install and cheap from any home improvement store. They usually run between $5 and $8. Good luck!

Here is how simple this is.... the wires are all colored differently... simply match the phone wire to the terminal (screw) inside the phone jack... red to red, green to green, etc.
Should only take you a few minutes with a flat, or phillips screwdriver.
You can purchase phone jacks in a variety of styles and a few colors, pick one you like, and go for it.
Have Fun

The phone company will not do these kinds of repairs any longer. Its very simple. Just match the new one with the old ones wire configuration.
Buy at most any hardware store.
