i have 3 oscars and one is bitting th other causing damage. the one being hurt never runs. he even still groups with him. i divided the tank with a sheet of glass. thy seem to be in a panic... both males a split up and th one female is on the side where the male that was being hurt on. was this a bad decision?

Wrong selection of where the female should be maybe. The female should be with the bully or more dominate male. They are most likely pair off or in the process of pairing off to spawn and they dominate male wanted the other male out of his territory. The sheet of glass me prevent further damage to the weaker male, but as long as they can see each other things probably won't settle down.

I posted an answer to this already, Sean. I think the male (bully) and the female paired off. They'll try to chase the other oscar off. The bullying male had proved (or was proving) that he was the better physical specimen for her to breed with. Now you've separated them and Romeo and Juliet can't get back to each other.
The other male doesn't understand why they all can't be friends. It's kind of thrown everyone off.

no, but i suggest you separate the aggressive one into another tank and take the sheet of glass out.
