First you find the natural log of both sides which is "ln" on your caluculator. And then you get 4x=ln 6. Then you divide 4 from each side and you end up with x=ln 6 / 4. Then you punch into your calculator "ln 6" and whatever the answer of that is you divide it by 4. And once you divide it by 4 you get what "x" equals

e^4x=6
take LN of both sides

4x = ln(6) = 1.792
x = 0.445
.

e^(4x) = 6
ln(e^(4x)) = ln(6) (take ln of both sides)
4x = ln(6) (since ln(e^x) = x)
x = ln(6)/4
