There are many people in the world and YES YES YES there are people who live this principle as Gandhi intended it's meaning.
Everyone else follows this rule too in their own way: even if it is self serving. We all rationalize our actions as what we want. Our choices are products of our desires. Therefore when any of us decide to do something we are impacting the world. I guess what I am trying to say is that not everyone has the same outlook (some polar opposite of Gandhi) and we all make choices to change the things we don't agree with.
People cannot escape the fact that they impact this world with their actions, for better or for worse.

Yes, I do. But I also think that some people take it the wrong way, and rather than make good changes, they make bad changes. And in the end, they are not looking beyond themselves, they are still being selfish, and not even doing as the quote is suggesting. They're just being a pain in the *** to other people. They waste their talents and genius being shitheads.

"I'm lookin' at the man in the mirror, I'm askin' him to make the change."
- Michael Jackson
It's the same message but one got rich by putting it to song and the other got shot in the chest.

This quote makes no sense to me.
Look at the author.
He kicked the British out. Now the country is a mess.
Kind of like Iraq....

You've lost the whole point of the message. It makes no difference what others are doing, only what we ourselves our doing.

The question is not whether people are doing this but whether you agree with this statement and, if so, are you doing it?
