Do speed ladders really increase your speed (if so how many times a week and how long at a time should I do it for), if not what is the best way to increase speed?

speed ladders increase your procision and accuracy. If your already an advanced runner, a speed ladder would definately be a good idea to include in your workout. you can get workout plans and ideas through google. If you are a begginner, speed ladders are still a good idea, but they do not help as much as lifting weights for strong muscles and running.

I really do not know too much about speed ladders but there might be a trick you could use . See if you can get something to place at the bottom of the bat which would increase the weight of the bat. Now I am talking more than a doughnut but something to increase the weight to 6-8 ounces. I do not know if it will work but the bat should feel lighter in your hand minus the weights and it could increase the bat speed. The only other thing would be to get some lead pipe and swing it around before you come to bat and choke up a little on the bat for better control. I hope that this will be able to help you.

Im thinking that you should do it a lot, then gradually you will increase speed. If you practice it everyday, most likely you can get to the speed you want very quickly. :]

Train with weights on.If you jog with about twenty extra pounds on ( be it heavy clothes,a backpack with rocks, whatever) for a half hour or so,You'll feel light as a feather. It's not a one time thing if you want it to stay though.Just add a good 10 or 15 lbs on when you normally exercise.
