americans are wierd.
the rest of the world calls soccer football. (or futball in the latin countries) (which is fitting because ur arent allowed to use ur hands)but america calls football soccer.

and then the rest of the world has to call the football WE play "american football."

aaand we use the wierd measuring system when the rest of the world uses metric system.

It has nothing to do with the feet or body part. It has to do with the measurements of the field and advancement of the ball in increments of 30 feet at a time or 10 yards.

Because you're talking about American football, not what the rest of the world calls football (where they do use their feet all of the time).

American football is better know as "playing toss in armor".
