I think we need to stop meddling in the affairs of other countries and focus on protecting our own borders. Let's start with the Mexican border and keeping out "illegals" from coming in.

I bitterly resent President Bush keeping us free from attack for so long. We Liberals have a perfectly good plan for national self-defense, but he never lets us implement it.

I also strenuously object to the Patriot Act. While I can't say that I know anyone who has been adversely affected by it, nor have I actually heard of any innocent person being nabbed by the Feds, there must be some possibility that in some instance an injustice could occur, so I must condemn this unfair law which has the potential to someday inconvenience an innocent person.

I don't trust Bush. I have the feeling he's keeping us safe for some ulterior motive. He has some private reason for not letting another attack happen, and I think it's just so us Liberals feel inadequate because he's doing such a "great" job, and I put that word in quotes on purpose. He's doing all this for show. He's trying to make us look bad. Well, I don't care what it takes, we're not going to tolerate his competence anymore! Something has to be done about this sneaky, unfair man.

If you are gripped by fear, you are not free!

If you think only one man can be responsible for your safety, then your safety is in the most precarious of circumstances.

This country was more safe before Bush and will be more safe after he has left office!

"He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword"

The Cold War was won quite handily because it was fought 99.999% on the ideological plane in front of the world of public opinion.

George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden are both trying to take us all back to the Middle Ages when people went to war at the drop of an insult.

George W. Bush has jumped right into Osama's script!

By doing this, George W. has become just as dangerous to the world at large as Osama is.

He isn't saving us from anything.

He is only stirring things up to where they are more complicated and threatening than if he had shown more prudent restraint.

Our mission in Afghanistan has been further complicated and increased several fold by his stupid invasion and occupation of Iraq.

I do live in a safe, free country, a country where I'm free to complain about Bush. It's been that way long before Bush came along, I just hope it'll still be that way when he leaves.

Such absolutism appeals only to triumphalists and fools, or both. I served my country, I vote my conscience, and I have the right, privilege, and honor to give my opinion as I see fit. Unlike you, I live in a free country, not the pretend kingdom of Dubyah. You, like America are lost in the Bushes. Fortunately there is light at the end of the tunnel. I only hope it does not completely blind you.

Yes I am safe but Id feel safer if Mr Bush did not send all of the strong, young, eligible bachelors to their deaths. America is not safe and free because of Mr Bush. America is safe and free because of the pledge our troops at their induction. The last time I checked America was no where near Iraq.

I love living in a reasonably safe, reasonably free country. However, having our troops in the middle of a messy Iraqi civil war isn't doing anything to further our safety or our freedom. All it does is make our troops less safe.

I am not living in a safe free country because of Bush - there are others who are responsible for that.

free and safe???? are you kidding me. when you are told where you can smoke , what you can speak about freely, hell ya can't even pray in school anymore. and safe, that's a joke. you cant walk outside on your own street safely anymore. who are you trying to convince. it sure as hell ain't me. bush hasn't done a thing to better this country since he's been in office. we pay twice as much for everything to pay for this pathetic war of his which is nothing more than legal murder of our own soldiers. so you can be a bush supporter if you want to but i rue the day i ever voted for him.

this is more complicated than you think

we ARE free

one of our freedoms is freedom of speech

and because we don't have to worry about where we're gonna sleep tonight(etc.) we have time to worry about other things, such as politics.

and because we have the freedom to be critics, thats what makes the us a kickass country

but keep in mind, it is NOT george w bush that gave us these freedoms in the first place, so we can be free, and still hate bush.
