47 & 83 being the whole number, what would the answer be?

Well, this is what I guess from what you typed as the equation.

47+(3/5)+6n = 83+(3/4)

So, here's how I work it out:

238/5 + 30n/5 = 335/4

952/20 + 120n/120 = 1675/20

120n/20 = 723/20

120n = 723

n = 6+(1/40) or 241/40
