Does this make me a big jerk? Honest answers?

I go to college and have already serviced half the cheer leading team. But because i am doing a speciality course i have all my classes with the same peeps. i have made some really great cool friends but there is this one girl who is a heifer and one day i sat next to her and talked to her absent mindedly and now she is totally in love with me. She thinks we are best friends and always sits next to me and always shouts to me from across the room. I try to avoid her sometimes because she is so full on and i kinda think that is her own fault. But then i guess she doesnt have many friends and so she is trying to latch onto me and not let go. What should I do? Shut her down real hard so she drops out and goes to work in sanitation or just ignore her? I dont mind taling to her sometimes its just that i dont want to be best friends with her like she thinks we are

The whole way you started out the question puts a big impression on me as far as how I think you are. SERVICED half the cheerleading team? I don't know that I'd brag about that and then hope someone doesn't think you are a jerk. What makes you think that you are "cool" enough that if you decided not to be "best friends" with this "heifer" that she would drop and go to work in sanitation? Who are you? She may be something WAY better for not being involved with you in anyway. I'm sorry for being mean, but I really think guys that think they are big studs, just really need to grow up.

Well since you used the term heifer and that you would even consider "shutting her down so hard that she drops out" and you "serviced" half of the cheerleading team makes you more that just a jerk. For her sake just let her know that you dont want her as a freind and get it over with, Once she finds out that you are a total asshole she wont "bother" you anymore. Just remember what comes around goes around!!!!

I dont know if i should hate you or give you a high five. Either you lead her on too much and she is loving it, or she has overestimated your friendlyness. You need to put on the brakes, but like the real thing you need to do it slowly. Just acknolage her a little less + she will start to get the point.

Although the girls answering this question is most likely going to say "Just tell her straight, dont play with her heart" i dont know if thats the best idea. Underconfident girls who think they are fat tend to be totally crushed when the guy who she likes says "hey lets just be friends alright".

Heh, i guess this is sort of karma for sleeping with all those cheerleaders u womaniser you! :P

If you swallow your pride and tell her you need to talk to her, then say pretty much what you just said, she can't say that you treated her unfairly, and you wouldn't be a jerk then. Any other way, yeah, you'd be a jerk. It's not fair, people should really learn to take a clue. If you let her down nicely, word might get around what a "nice" guy you are, and you never know where that would lead (as far as the other half of the cheerleading team goes).

No one says you have to like everyone. Not liking everyone does not make you a jerk. How you treat others........does.
So if you dont want to be a big jerk......handle this matter with some consideration for the other persons feelings.

What's wrong with being best friends? Is she mean to you or is it just her looks. If it's just her looks, then yes, you are a jerk. If you don't want to be friends, just tell her that YOU don't want to be friends anymore but don't be mean. But don't shut her down just cuz of her looks. You don't think ur looks will fade too buddy? Time to grow up and look beyond looks. You'll find some of the greatest ppl are the most beautiful ppl and I'm not talking about looks!

Unlike the tactics you use with half the cheerleading team, be kind, direct and honest with her. Talk to her like she's your sister, not a potential score.

Try to keep her as a friend because the way you're going, she may wind up being your only best friend.

I assume that the cheerleading team is made up of young women?

I believe this does make you a jerk because why don't you want to be friends with this girl? Do you have to many friends that you can't have one more? Or are you afraid of what your friends may say or think of you. Everybody needs a friend why can't you reach out and be that friend? It's not like you have date her, but just be a friend What's the worst that can happen? Oh yea the other half of the cheerleading squad wont sleep with you booo hoooo cry me a freaking river.

PS. You think your 10 feet tall because of your reputation with the cheerleaders........I would pick her to be my friend over you anyday because to me she seems 20 feet talk (at least she accepts people for who they are)!!!!!

hey there young man;I am not sure just what you mean by servicing half of the cheerleaders,but if you mean what i think you mean shame on you,do you have no respect for your self or these other young girl's.I also hope that none of these girls were under age /you can get yourself in alot of trouble being so easy.As for as this girl that seems to be bothering you,if you really don't want to hurt her then don't,just be a man and go to her face and say listen..I am flattered that you like me so much,but you really don't even know me.Tell her that you do not share her feeling's,but keep a respectful attitude about yourself,as you do not have to be rude about it.and go on about your business.

You think your all that, "servicing half the cheer girls". The, someone genuine wants to be friends with you & she's not good enough for you. Get off your high horse & look at the nice girls. Not just the ones you can sleep with who are easy.
