None of the above. Nikita Khruschev was ousted in 1964 and died in 1971. Poland didn't fall anywhere, althouh the Communist government there was voted out in 1990, when Lech Wałęsa was elected President (but the impact of this event on the Cold War is debatable). Mikhail Gorbachev is still alive. The collapse of the Soviet Union occurred in 1991.

The end of the Cold War was a gradual process, not an event...

May you could read each of these and work it out for yourself.

POLAND'S SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT.
The group, founded by Lech Walesa, is often credited with laying the groundwork for the fall of communism in Poland. The group was the first trade union in the former Eastern Bloc that was independent from the communist regime.

The founding of the "Solidarnosc" movement is now seen historically as the beginning of the end of communist rule in Europe. On Aug. 14, 1980, Lech Walesa, a labor activist and fired electrician scaled the gates of the Lenin shipyard in Gdansk and called for workers there to strike. The workers set down their tools for two weeks and a committee led by Walesa negotiated a deal with the communist government on Aug. 31, 1980 that provided "Solidarnosc" with the right to create an independent labor movement. Eventually, it led to the peaceful fall of communism in Poland.

The Fall of the Soviet Empire:
When the Communist Party chose Mikhail Gorbachev as its new leader in 1985, it had little idea of what he would do: he immediately launched a campaign aimed at transforming Soviet society, called perestroika ("restructuring") and glasnost' ("openness"). This included political reforms: by 1989, other candidates apart from Communist Party endorsed ones, were allowed to participate in elections for the Supreme Soviet parliament.

Gorbachev withdrew Soviet troops from Afghanistan and signed agreements with American president George Bush to end production of chemical weapons and make substantial cuts in nuclear weapons. Finally in 1990, the Soviet Communist Party surrendered its hold on total power which Trotsky had taken in 1918, and allowed other political parties the freedom to operate.

Ever heard of multiple guess questions? 2 are always totally wrong, one misleading and the right one. Do you think the other respondent got it right? Check some facts and think for yourself.
