Like other people have said, once grass is cut it is like hair , it begins to grow again. It is just an occurence in nature that is part of the natural order of mother earth. If you kill a bird it is dead. If animals mate the female gives birth to young. It's just part of nature.

It is kinda like hair, unless you are bald. The root is still alive therefor it will still grow. Cutting the grass does not kill the root.

When you cut your grass you are removing a portion of the blade. The blade then has more micronutrients for less grass. This encorages rapid new growth as there is more food for less grass. Same as when you prune a plant. More food for the remaining parts of the plant.

grass is a plant just like any normal plant when it gets trimmed back its going to grow faster and greener, thats why bushes get trimmed and fruit trees get trimmed every year because they come back fuller and greener and with more flowers or fruit, grass is the same way because in some places grass is considered a flower or a plant for a garden.

because it doesn't know it's just going to be cut again.

Well, seriously it's always growing. The roots are still there and the short grass still prospers after being cut.

I guess in this respect it's similar to hair.
