I'm planning to go visit my friend in Israel over the summer, however, I have friends in Lebanon too that I would like to visit. They are telling me that I can't get into Lebanon if I have a visa from Israel. ( and same if I go to Lebanon then Israel) I am an American Citizen so I don't see why this should be a problem. Please someone clarify this for me??

Yes you can enter Lebanon.

When you go to Israel first ask them not to stamp your passport, they are very flexible with that matters.

read below ...

All visitors to Israel must hold a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date they enters the country. People with no nationality must hold a valid laissez passer, as well as a visa back to the country that issued it.

Visitors are entitled to remain in Israel up to three months from the date of their arrival, in accordance with the conditions of the visa issued to them. Visitors intending to work in Israel must submit a request to the Ministry of the Interior for a special visa.

Important note for tourists continuing from Israel on to Arab countries (except Egypt and Jordan): It is recommended that you request that an Israeli stamp does not appear on your passport. You must notify the clerk of your request before your documents are stamped. The granting of such requests is at the discretion of the authorities.

Have a nice trip.

It's simple. There are lebanese rules for that. You can be an american citizen, but that means anything.. The american rules are good in america, if you go out of your country you have to accept the rules of the countries you are visiting. Since Israel and Lebanon hasnt good relationship, they dont allow any pple that have gone to the other country to enter in their countries and it appears in the passport. Anyways...I think that if you go from Israel to Lebanon, I heard that sometimes they dont put a stamp in your passport. But either you cant enter directly from Israel to Lebanon. have to go through another country as for example Jordan. Anyways, it would be good that you ask in the respectives embassies in USA b4 to travel.

I am 99.9% certain that you can't enter Lebanon if you'll have been to Israel (and vice versa- although, I would consult your nearest Israeli embassy/consulate on this one to see if some arrangement can be worked out). I am not sure how long this will take, but I have a friend in the US who has two American passports: one that he uses to go to Israel and one that he uses to go to countries that don't recognize Israel.

I would also consult the nearest Israeli embassy/consulate to see if they can add an extra page on which they stamp your visa (and then you could remove this page...I think).

come to Lebanon first then go to Israel it's ok if you have a stamp from Lebanon on your passport when visiting Israel
BTW you don't need a Visa to Israel, they will give you a pass at the airport and they will stamp that pass so I think you're passport will be without an Israel stamp

No you cannot enter lebanon if there is a stamp on your passport saying that you entered israel. That is why many people ask for a seperate sheet just for the stamp when they visit Israel.

Arabian Beauty-there's no point in being so snappy.

As for the question, I heard that no, it's not normally allowed (I think my parents said that you can get arrested, although it was a while ago so maybe I'm hallucinating lol)
Anyway, the methods people are suggesting above me are very sensible, but ask the embassies just to make sure.
It doesn't make a difference as to whether or not you're an American Citizen, it's just the rules the two countries have.

When you get into passport control in Israel ask that instead of stamping your passport that they should stamp a separate piece of paper.

If you tell them you plan on going to Lebanon latter they are usually cool with it.
