I have 2 small teracotta decorations I want to put in my fish tank with my axolotl. Is that ok, or will it poison the water or him? They haven't been used before. Thank you

Are these decorations made for an aquarium (the little relic pots)? Those would be fine, because they're made for underwater use.

If it's a clay flowerpot, I've used them in cichlid tanks for egg-layers wanting caves, but they should be soaked and rinsed before you use them.

Rinse them well in some tank water next time you do a water change. As long as they weren't painted, they're fine. I have them in with my cichlids as well. They're aquarium safe.

If they are unglazed they should be just fine.
