they are really hard to find in stores, i heard they are good though. are they just not popular or is there something wrong with them?

The FX5600 is old tech and consumes too much electricity (65Watts). Forget it. It will just stress your power supply a lot if ever you could run it at all.

Consider the Nvidia 7xxx series. They are DX9 cards and have low wattage. The powerful 7600GT PCIe draws only 36W, the AGP version, a little more.
