Of course some students are. The question that needs to be asked is why they are distracting the class. Maybe they are not being challenged enough. Maybe they have a behavioral problem that needs serious attention. Their is always something behind it.

Generally, disruptive students want to cause trouble. Many don't like school. A few have a problem with authority figures like the teacher. There are some exceptions: students who have Tourettes or autism who have trouble controlling their behavior.
In our school system, the teacher can't drop disruptive students from class. I think the majority of disruptive kids aren't interested in learning.

No!! Their bored and not interested in learning !! They take time away from kids who really want to learn !! Teachers who drop them shouldn't feel regret for doing the right thing !!!

Teachers today are under siege across the county, and was we know, have been assaulted and murdered at ever increasing numbers.
Most teachers, once threatened, never feel the same , and just want to do their job well, but not get too involved. Many have suffered trauma just hearing stories about other who have been harassed, assaulted, murdered.
NAPTA is an organization of US teachers who have been in this boat, and who also have been unfairly targeted by school administrators.

They have been brought up in a way such that what teachers are saying to them is boring to them. It's obvious that doing something else is more important. They place no value on what is being taught.
Why would a teacher regret moving on and getting on with their job?
