Yes, those channels were made for kids your age. Except for some of the stupid cartoons that they have on Disney sometimes. I watched Disney channel until I was about 14 or 15. You won't watch as many shows that aren't appropriate for kids your age. Like MTV. You don't need to be watching that stuff yet. That's what's wrong with this world. And they have the right level of humor that you will understand. There's nothing wrong with watching it at your age.

It's completely normal. I'm 14 and I watch Disney all the time! My friends in 8th grade and high school love it too. It's ok to like any channel. Disney is targeted for kids 10-16 so I mean you fit the criteria.
Sometimes its good to watch other shows like American Idol or One Tree Hill. I have a good mix. There is nothing wrong with watching Disney or Nick or even Cartoon Network. Soon you will have to grow out of it so watch a few other shows so once you outgrow Disney you'll have other shows.
May I suggest some reality shows? They're addicting!

watching Disney channel, Nickelodeon, etc. is perfectly alright.
I myself am 13 years old, and i watch Disney channel, Nickelodeon, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, the Travel channel, and the National Geographic channel more than i watch MTV or VH1. In fact, i rarely watch MTV or VH1.
I don't want to sound like your mom or dad, but i discourage you from watching MTV or VH1. The reality shows are very immoral. Watching most music videos, however, is OK.
I don't mean to sound like a hypocrite, but you should atleast try to avoid watching those reality shows.
My 23 year old sister, who attends a medical school in New York, enjoys watching shows like Hannah Montana and That's so Raven whenever she is with me (my family lives in California).
In short, watching Disney channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network is BETTER FOR YOU than watching reality shows on MTV and VH1. Also, try watching the informative channels like Discovery Channel, the National Geographic channel, etc. They can be very amusing.

Actually, I think that's just FINE given what is on television these days !! I have similar rules for my daughters... though they love History and Discovery Channels also.
I grew up in the 60-80's.. and we didn't HAVE much garbage on Television !! Heck, I didn't have cable until I was 22 in my own apartment !!
Enjoy the end of your "childhood"... and ALWAYS take an hour a week to watch a Disney movie I still do and I'm in my 40's

eventually maximum adults come into contact with wee ones who're below their administration or sphere of impression - aunt, uncle, caregiver, mom, dad, instructor, etc. there isn't any longer some thing incorrect and each and every thing acceptable about adults gazing shows designed for the preschool set. As someone of impression one might want to understand which shows have any fee and that are trash - and there is too a lot trash available. some shows - like Sesame street or Mr. Rogers merely to call 2- should be watched on both the youngster and individual degrees - and are organic genius. good things to computer screen jointly. i should be more effective heavily worried about the "controlling, manipulative and pathological liar" parts of your question. Get some specialist in this one earlier it really is too previous due!

Yeah, I'm 35 and watch with my kids all the time. My oldest is 12. If you like watching a show, don't worry about what others think. Learn young to speak for yourself and to have the confidence to be an individual, it will go a long way for you in the future.

I think as long as you're not hurting anybody, you should be entitled to watch what you'd like. My folks used to tell me that I should stop watching cartoons back when I was fourteen, and that feels like a million years ago now, but I still watched them back then. Apparently, I'm not the only one though b/c check out all the cool animation they have out now. I still watch that kind of stuff on occasion when there's nothing else on, but the point is I still watch them, and I don't pay any mind to the people that tell me, "Aren't you a little old to be watching that?" when 5 min. later, I see them watching along with me. You might feel like you're being pressured to grow up as fast as you can, but you should enjoy your youth now. Don't let anyone make you feel like a freak for being true to yourself.
