I know there is a way you can hook up multi-monitors to a computer and get like a surround type view, but how is it done

I would say get another video card and have someone install it into the computer (keeping the other one too) and hooking up the two monitors to it.

K, you need a graphics card that supports dual monitor, most new ATI and nVidia cards can do that, choose 'span' which will allow two monitors on at same time, ie, left for main windows, then right monitor for you to display anything else, I use the second screen for my TV and DVD playing.
