You should have given more details. I have never heard of this holiday. If it is international I should have. What do you do? Make a lot of pop tarts or other toaster foods? Or is it that you raise your glasses in cheery excuse to drink a lot?

To answer your question, I have always preferred the warmth and closeness of Thanksgiving. I enjoy cooking and the annual gut gorge and bladder burst we celebrate here in the U.S. gives me a great excuse to do so. I have a large number of friends that are my family who begin talking about it months in advance. They come for the weekend and we just enjoy each other's company between eating ourselves into oblivion.

Christmas. We are not big on gifts. We put every ones name in the hat and each person draws a name. Everyone has a stocking, and they get filled. All our children come home for several days and bring their children.

Before Christmas Day, we make ginger bread houses, gift baskets for 4 families and give them to them anonymously.
Make tons of cookies, and candy, and everyone gets into the program, mostly the eating. Play games, take mini trips, visit the nursing homes, sing carols, reminisce, tell stories, and just love each other till it hurts.

Then on Christmas Eve we play the White Elephant game. Afterwards my eldest son gives a devotional on the birth of Christ. Sometimes it is very challenging to realize the difficulties that they had, or the true time frame of events. He is quite a Biblical scholar. He taught himself to read acient Greek and Hebrew so he could read the original writings himself.

Then we all go to bed, and the first one up, gets everyone else up. One time that was at 2 AM! Oh I forgot to tell you that the day before, we order pizza! Pizza and more pizza, but you can't eat any till after we each open our presents. The pizza came about because my wife fixed a superb Christmas dinner a long time ago. Everyone turned up their nose at it, because they were full of stocking stuffing junk. So, since then we have ordered pizza. So all day, we play with our new toy or gift, eat pizza, play games, eat pizza, nap, eat pizza, share time with everyone, eat pizza, and have fun! Did I mention we eat pizza too!

Holly Day of course. I think it was the original Holiday. It was a slight mis-interpretation from the ancient texts whereby only one day was to be celebrated as the greatest of all days, which was the day that the first spiny-margined evergreen leafed and usually red berried tree/shrub came into existence. I can say with 99% confidence that this occured between 3 billion and 100,000 years ago! Yeah!
