If the female is not ready to spawn, the male will kill her. Both fish must be in spawning condition. The female should be quite plump, and you should see a small white tube protruding from her vent. The fish should be introduced into the males tank only after you see those signs. Then you will need to know how to grow an Infusoria culture. It's the only food small enough to get the fry through the first couple of weeks. You will also need to know how long to leave the male with the fry. You will need a seasoned(cycled) sponge filter for the fry tank. There's lots more, maybe a good book would help.

They are fish eggs. Once you know that the male has fertilised the eggs scoop them out and put the eggs in a different tank or dish. If you don't they will end up eating their babies. If you don't want the fish you could leave them in there and they will get eaten. They are a good source of protein. They will do this3-4 times a year from now on.

Yep, they sure do. If you don't want fish, move them apart (if you can). If you'd like little baby fish then introduce the female to the male tank, turn on some Marvin Gaye, and let nature take it's course.
