They both go a little heavy on the alcahol from time to time but it's usually my dad who drinks a little too much. And sometimes it's not even because they had something to drink and their fighting about money or some other thing related to it. So they talked it over and told us that they would get a divorce if my dad couldn't get over his drinking problem. (He is not a bad guy he just is when he drinks.) And if they did get a divorce than what would I do. I also have 1 brother so we would probably get separated. And would I stay with my mom or my dad.

How old are you? Quite honestly, while telling you they are discussing divorce wasn't awful, asking you to decide who you want to live with was.

This is something they need to work out. Not you. You're the kid. They're the adults..or they're supposed to be. Stay as far out of this as you can. I know it isn't easy, but just tell them..I'm a kid..you're an adult and a parent, keep me out of it.

Just remember..you are a kid. Don't try to solve their issues or take sides, as hard it may be.

(*hug*) Good luck.

you should go with your mother both of you, you said it yourself, only when he drinks he is a bad guy.

In my case, my wife is using drugs so we divorced when I found out, not only that but she also has a boyfriend and was cheating. My kids live with me now. Decide who the better parent is and do what is best for you.
