Humans go to war for two reasons, and two reasons only.
1. Because we want "something" so much that we are willing to kill someone to HAVE it.
2. Because we want "something" so much we are willing to kill someone to KEEP it.
America's defense of Kosovo might have introduced a 3rd reason--to defend anothers way of life, but that is debatable.
Money is simply a way to value "something" else. It's a way to value wealth, which I suppose is a way to value Power. Money provides in many ways Power. If you don't have any money, you might feel powerless in your ability to survive. In that manner War is a means of survival.
If you put the word "survival" into either 1 or 2 above in place of "something" it might be easier to under stand the correlation between money and war.
The comic Hagar the Horrible ran a cartoon a long time ago in which Hagar was asked a question by the town friar. "Which would you rather have Gold, Power, or Contentment?" Hagar replied, "I'd rather have Power because then I could get Gold and then I'd have Contentment."
Just about says it all

When We go to war our Military-Industrial Complex is revved up to meet any demand. The country with the most stuff usually wins, but the real winners are the defense industry that profits by the need for all the things you can think of . Toilet paper , bullets socks, helmets. War is good for Haliburton. I guess the only thing it's not good for is the people having to fight it, and the families left with a folded American flag.

All wars start for one type of gain or another. weather that gain is land or water rights or just power in the end that gain means money. Profit for the victors. Greed, the desire for money becomes a great driving force toward war. Desire for gain can cause many a man to lie, cheat, and make war in it's pursuit. I hope this answers your question.

It is the same....we have wars over money and $$ causes wars! There is a mentality that we all want what they have they want what we have...it is a never ending loop - and in the end we have spent more than we will ever get back. The costs are financial, emotional and physical - do tell me - how much is my life worth?
