put too high importance on one area, falling to see the bigger picture?

Everyone has a different upbringing and educational experiences. What I know you may not and what you know I may not know. I don't think that makes a person less intelligent because they don't know certain things. We all have strengths and weaknesses of topics we know and don't know. But it is always great to learn something new from someone.

There is variation in everything in the universe so it's not surprising that intelligence varies too. It's probably not right to say someone is "not" intelligent. People have more or less intelligence.

Maybe the most important point is that there are many different kinds of intelligence. Someone who is good at math might be really clumsy socially. Is he intelligent or not?

Below is a link to a person who has done some research on this and come up with a number of categories of intelligence. Some are surprising. The list is at the bottom of that page.

The same reason some of us are tall & some are short, etc. Some intelligent people make stupid decisions.

You have a great question. There are stupid people in the world for a good reason so us smart people know that we are smart. Also stupid people should not have kids then there are more stupid people.

SOme is genetic and some is environmentally based.

But anyone who works hard and applies themself can at least be average at what they do.
