Use the angle addition rule: tan(a+b)=[tan(a) + tan(b)]/(1-tan(a)tan(b))
So in this case you have tan(240)=tan(180+60)=[tan(180)-tan(60)]/(1+tan(180)tan(60)) = [0+sqrt(3)]/(1)=sqrt(3)
