Why is it that tim duncan and the spurs are just so dang hate - able? i know he's one of the greatest probably to ever play but i hate him more than chronic coldsores. im not a suns fan so that has nothing to do with it, heck, im not even much of a bball fan. i just cant stand the guy. im pretty sure the only people that like him are spurs fans and thats it. guys like peyton manning, kobe, derek jeter: they're all on top of their game but people outside their immediate fan base like them. just why is tim duncan so unlikeable?

you ever have that girl in the classroom who has no life outside her studies and acts like her life depends on her grade? she would rip her mom's throat out to get an A but she acts like the sweetest little pip and if she gets a B she whines to the teacher like "I am so innocent and try so hard... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE." and it gets so old. this is what duncan does... everytime a foul is called on him it's big-eyed open mouth, then smile, with his hands out like "what??!!! i don't commit fouls? you can't be serious? but he never gets angry at the refs, he just tries to act like he's never done anything wrong" kind of like that girl i'm thinking about in my science classes

Tim Duncan is genuinely the suitable ability ahead ever to play (extra suitable defender than Barkley, extra suitable around the rim than Malone). he will finally end up with a minimum of as many earrings as Shaq(4), and has an particularly useful threat to examine MJ's 6 formerly his occupation's over. Kobe is the suitable straightforward participant at present even with the reality that beacuse despite the indisputable fact that if Duncan's resume's extra suitable, no human being can influence the game like Kobe on the offensive element of the ball.,

I didn't know he was exactly "so unlikeable."

But yeah, he is the best player there is who doesn''t have a lot of fans, nor recognition outside his team and sport.

That's because he is kinda dull to watch. On his team along, Robert Horry with his unpredictable clutch threes is more charismatic.

Plus, he must be the ONLY PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY who thinks HE HAS NEVER EVER COMMITTED A FOUL. Whenever the refs call a foul on him, he always reacts with that "who-me?" expression and it's long gotten tiresome.

And in interviews, he also talks as if everything comes from a script. Always the right thing, never anything quote-worthy.

But admittedly, he is one of the greatest forwards in league history. He's just not the type who will excite a lot of fans.

Although he isn't the most popular player in the league right now, he still has quite a fan base, as evidenced by the fact that the sales of his NBA jersey is recently still ranked #15 (see web link). I think many casual NBA viewers, who like high flying dunks and other flashy acrobatic moves, cannot appreciate his fundamentally-sound style of play. His cool-headed personality is often mistaken as not being passionate about the game, but in reality, he's a fierce competitor and lets his game do the talking. For those who follow the NBA and know the game, they really enjoy watching the "Big Fundamental" help elevate his teammates' game and carry the team to multiple championships.

I don't know what you're talking about I love Tim Duncan and the Spurs. They're my second favorite team in the league after Detroit. If people don't like them I think it's because they don't play flashy basketball. They are a team that plays defense and sometimes wins ugly and some fans don't like that. Also I think people are jealous of the fact that every year for almost 10 years the Spurs have been in it to win it. As for why some people don't like Tim Duncan I think it's because for most part he's a quiet, keep to himself, non-flashy superstar. Ironically enough that's what I like about him. All he does is play hard and win championships. I don't see how you could possibly not like that.

I don't know how tim or anyone on the spurs is unlikeable. Theri team isn't full of thugs like the nuggets and no selfish players like the nuggets.

I as a spurs fan will be the first to say that tim does complain a bit too much but who doesnt?!! I mean look at the warriors getting ejected simply b/c they couldn't control their emotions.

Are you sure about kobe bryant. I know PLENTY of people (including myself) OUTSIDE the lakers fan base that HATE that man with a passion. Biggest reason is many feel that he is the biggest reason that shaq left the lakers which in turn is the reason for the lakers collapse followed by their current rebuilding phase.

I'm a Spurs fan and he's a great guy with an amazing basketball skill.. He's not flashy, he's shy but he works hard. I don't know why people doesn't like him, but all that matter is he's a good guy who's an amazing basketball player and the spurs are going to the playoff this year to win it all...

Stop whining about your team losing to the spurs! Hahahaha. The only people that call Duncan a whiner are the ones being punished by his skills on the court and those teams fans. I figured you would come out and say this after he thrashed your team.

Duncan is the man, name a player that doesn't whine about calls and how can you call the spurs boring when ginobli is like the most exciting player in the league.

How can you not like Timmy? Not only is he cute, but he is a genuinely nice guy. He works together with his teamates and doesn't try to steal the show like Kobe Bryant. He is also very humble and is very active in his community. If you don't like Tim there must be something seriously wrong with you. He Is The BEST!!! Go Spurs Go!!!
