I am Liberal and can even go along with a few gun laws, but it seems this bill is unConstitutional because it is up to the Justice Dept. and it is not because of a criminal record that would decide who gets a gun. If I have to choose between solutions that weaken the Constitution or the Constitution itself, i go with the Constitution..

now if the Justice Dept. could get a court order because of real information, then fine...that would be like refusing to sell to mental patients

I would have to say Yes. They are right.

"As many of our friends in law enforcement have rightly pointed out, the word 'suspect' has no legal meaning, particularly when it comes to denying constitutional liberties," Cox wrote".

If someone is not a criminal than he or she has a right under the 2nd Amendment.

Common sense dictates if they are a suspect, go pick them up and charge them. That way them owning a gun in a moot issue.

See, the key word is "suspected." That means that someone THINKS you MIGHT be a terrorist. With the government we have, a terrorist may be anyone who doesn't agree with the government--figure that one out! (And I'm conservative!)

I would go so far as to say ex-cons shouldn't be barred from owning guns...so long as you've served your time, you have the right to defend yourself! I am totally against barring felons from having guns, because it's a slippery slope--they can make certain "petty" crimes felonies, or charges can be trumped up...see where I'm going with this?

These NRA folks know no bounds to their stupidity. Stopping the ban on assault weapons, weakening background checks, opposing the ban on teflon "cop killer" bullets that can pierce bullet proof vests.
I own guns. I support the right to bear arms. I don't support idiotic, knee jerk reactions to any sensible gun control.
The majority of Americans support the 2ed Amendment. No one wants to disarm Americans but the NRA has always ignored the true spirit of the amendment:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The 'well regulated militia' had meaning. Perhaps the NRA wants an Al Qaeda militia in the streets of the USA.
