A toughie to answer without knowing the people but I suggest that the man is simply tired, depressed, stressed ..... it can all end up lowering a man's libido but the good news is that is does come back|! Perhaps this man is experiencing erectile dysfunction and scared to approach his wife for fear of rejection or embarrassment. This is all normal throughout a man's sexual life and there are bound to be peaks and troughs in sexual activity. Has she spoken to her husband about this all? Perhaps she needs to clear the air for her own reassurance ..... talking about it is always the best route .... honesty can help so much. If the man is genuinely having a problem, talking will help and lead to possibly seeking help ...... and every man has some sort of problem as he goes through life .... we are not machines! Good luck ..

It depends how often he refuses her request. If it is occasionally she should let it go do not make big fuss about it. If it happens most of the time I think that you are describing a conditions known as Inhibited sexual desire (ISD). The person with ISD fails to initiate or respond to their partner's desire for sexual activity.
ISD is a very common sexual disorder. The most common cause of ISD seems to be relationship problems wherein one partner does not feel emotionally intimate or close to their mate.
Communication problems, health problems such as depression, insomnia, excessive stress.
Treatment is required by the professional therapist and it depends on the eliminating causes listed above.

He sex life is nearing the end and her sex life is just getting into it's mid-term. As he get older, he will likely perform less. Every time a man routine changes doesn't mean he's eying another woman. You may be surprised to know that this may bother him more than it's bothering her.

The word affair was screaming at me when i first started reading this - but you`re sure it`s not that - i`d tell her to look at that again. You`d be amazed the trouble people will take to get to spend just a few minutes with the other person when they`re having an affair. How many times do you hear people say - how could he be having an affair....he doesn`t have the time.....?
But they do.

The problem is that they have a business together and see each other most of the time. He no longer sees her as a desirable woman, he sees her as his work mate.

Her husband may be having a medical problem that is causing him to have a lack of desire or he is having problems getting an erection and is afraid to tell her. Maybe she should sit down and discuss it with him and let him know she is there for him.

This happens when the mortgage payments, car payments and credit cards get too high .... usually in the early 40s; and they have to make a payroll too.

He is probably just slowing down. 40 is about the age that most men start slowing down. She should trade him in for two 20 year olds if he can't keep up : )
