Oh most definitely! When I went away to college I took ALL of my aquariums, including my koi, and they did fine. Just make sure they aren't in direct sunlight and that the car doesn't get too hot. Coolers are good to help protect them from heat. Also, it's best to change their water a couple of days before so it's clean.

you can buy a battery operated aerator sold in most fishing/tack stores. fisherman use them to keep the bait minnow alive. koi are quite hardy to agitation and temp differences(within reason) but, like any fish, need aerated water. get a large plastic bucket(white, to keep from getting hot)with lid, poke hole and put battery operated aerator in water. If you don't get the aerator, bring another 2-3 gallons of water and change of bucket and pour new water into new bucket for high up(think of cocktail with tom cruise). So you create bubbles in the water as its pouring, transfer you kois. this should be done 1/2 way through journey or if your kois are not looking so good.

Sure, that's not a problem if you are willing to invest in a battery operated air pump. I would suggest using a well washed cooler that you fill partially with tank water then add the koi. Add the air stone and they should make the trip just fine.

Buy a little aerator that runs on batteries, with a airline and air stone, they sell them for minnos. Try K-mart , fishing stores, etc. We use it all the time, works great.
