I'm 21 now and I read that magazine when I was 14! But I wonder, what happened to it? Did the magazine change their name? I haven't seen it on stands in years. :(

I was subscribed to YM when they discontinued it. I got a free 1 year subscription to Teen Vogue as a gift from YM.

Ailing teen magazine YM publisher Gruner & Jahr announced they would sell their assests to Conde Nast Publications. In May of this year it was announced that circulation was being reduced from 2 million to 1.5 million meaning 11 times a year. YM had been struggling to keep its place in the teen market, which has giants such at Teen People, Seventeen, and Elle Girl.

I heard that they shut down the magazine. I don't know exactly what happened, but my guess is that they couldn't compete with all the new teen versions of adult magazines that flooded the market, like Cosmo Girl, Elle Girl, Teen Vogue, etc.
